Mid June – mid September · Chamonix · UIAGM guided
4,810 meters, and the highest summit in Western Europe. A five-day private program from Chamonix — two days to acclimatize and sharpen your technique, two hut nights on the mountain, and a 04:00 start for the Arête des Bosses.
The mountain
Mont Blanc is not a hard climb and that is exactly why it defeats so many people. Almost nobody is stopped by the climbing on the Goûter route — they are stopped by 4,810 metres, by a summit day that starts at four in the morning and asks for a thousand metres of ascent on legs that have already been working for three days, and by weather that changes faster at the top than anywhere else in the range. That is why this is a five-day program and not a weekend. The two acclimatization days at the start are not padding and they are not sightseeing: they are the difference between standing on the summit and turning round at the Dôme.
The program
The first two days build the altitude and the technique. The third puts you on the mountain. The fourth is the one you came for.
€2,150 each if two of you climb together, and €3,650 if you want the guide to yourself. Both figures are for the whole five-day program and already contain the two hut nights and the lifts onto the mountain, rather than leaving them to appear at the bottom of an invoice later.
Before you book
Mid June – mid September
Tell me your dates, how many of you there are and what you have climbed before. I'll come back with an exact price, the window I would choose, and an honest answer about whether this is the season for it.
